Data, Software, Accounts & Privacy Policy
Overview
At Johnweye Solutions, some projects may involve access to device data, software systems, user accounts, serial number registration, cloud-based device associations, consumer service records, or other sensitive information.
This Policy explains how we handle such information when providing inspection, testing, repair, refurbishment, restoration, logistics, and after-sales services.
What This Policy Covers
This Policy may apply whenever a project involves:
Device data or stored content
Software, firmware, operating systems, or applications
User accounts, passwords, access credentials, or activation keys
Serial number registration, cloud binding, or device association
Consumer information, order details, shipping information, or service records
Diagnostic logs, calibration records, or system-generated information
Other confidential, proprietary, or sensitive project-related information
Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for ensuring they have the right to authorize us to handle the relevant devices, accounts, software, data, and related information.
Before sending products or materials to us, customers should clearly let us know if the project requires any special digital handling, including:
Data retention
Data transfer or migration
Data erasure
System reset or reinstallation
Account sign-out or removal
Device unbinding or cloud unlinking
Firmware flashing or software loading
Customers are also responsible for providing any access, permissions, software files, credentials, or technical materials reasonably required for the project.
If a project involves consumer personal information or other protected information, the customer is responsible for ensuring any required notice, consent, or authorization has been properly obtained.
How We Use Project Information
We only use project-related data, software, accounts, and information as reasonably necessary to perform the requested services.
We do not use project information for:
Marketing
Model training
Unrelated analytics
Public display
Any purpose outside the scope of the project
Access to project information is limited to personnel or service partners who need it to support the work.
Data, Backup, and Recovery
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, customers should assume that data may be changed, erased, reset, overwritten, or become inaccessible during inspection, diagnostics, repair, refurbishment, system recovery, testing, or related service work.
We do not guarantee:
Permanent storage of customer data
Recovery of lost or deleted data
Restoration of user content
Recovery of cloud-based information
Recovery of third-party accounts or passwords
Customers should back up all important data before sending any device to us.
Software, Accounts, and Device Access
Customers must ensure that any account credentials, software licenses, activation keys, remote access rights, or administrator permissions provided to us are lawful and authorized for the project.
We will not knowingly use such access or materials for any purpose outside the requested services.
When possible, customers should provide only the minimum level of access needed for the project.
Serial Number Binding and Cloud Associations
Some devices may be tied to serial number registration, OEM systems, cloud accounts, activation controls, MDM platforms, or similar digital restrictions.
Unless specifically agreed in writing, we do not guarantee the recovery, transfer, or removal of:
Serial number registration
Cloud bindings
Activation locks
OEM or third-party platform restrictions
Account-controlled device access
Where such work is part of the project, we will make reasonable efforts within the scope authorized by the customer and permitted by law and technical feasibility.
Consumer Information and Privacy
If a project involves consumer information, both parties are expected to handle it responsibly and in accordance with applicable law.
We act only as a service provider within the scope of the customer’s instructions and the agreed services.
We do not use consumer information for unrelated purposes.
Security and Access Control
We take reasonable technical and administrative measures to help protect project data, account information, and other sensitive materials from unauthorized access or misuse.
If we become aware of a material security issue affecting project information in our possession, we will use reasonable efforts to notify the customer within a reasonable time and cooperate on appropriate next steps.
Third-Party Platforms and Services
Some projects depend on third-party systems such as manufacturers, cloud platforms, software vendors, app ecosystems, or enterprise management systems.
We are not responsible for access issues, lockouts, service restrictions, account denials, or system changes caused by third parties outside our control.
Retention and Deletion
After a project is completed, we may retain limited records, logs, service notes, communications, and transaction-related materials as reasonably necessary for operational, legal, quality, audit, warranty, or recordkeeping purposes.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we are not required to preserve all project-related data indefinitely.
Customers may request deletion, return, or deactivation of project-related account materials or data copies, subject to legal, backup, audit, insurance, or evidence-preservation requirements.
Important Reminder
Before sending a device or project materials to us, customers should:
Back up important data
Remove unnecessary personal information where appropriate
Confirm whether data preservation is required
Provide clear written instructions for erase, reset, migration, or reinstall requests
Confirm whether account, cloud, or serial-number actions are needed
Policy Updates
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, operations, or legal requirements. The latest version posted on our website will apply unless a separate written agreement governs the project.
